Introduction:
This program is affiliated with the Deanship of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Palestine Polytechnic University and hosted by the College of Humanities and Educational Sciences. The program was developed as part of the "Equip Palestine with E-Learning (E-Pal)" project, in partnership between Palestine Polytechnic University, the University College of Applied Sciences in Gaza, and the University of Oslo in Norway.
Program duration:
Two years, with the student able to study part-time for up to three years.
Number of credit hours: 36 credit hours, as follows:

30 credit hours of courses

6 credit hours of scientific research in two tracks:

Track 1: Scientific Research: A track in which the student submits a complete experimental research thesis.

Track 2: Applied Scientific Research: In this track, the student conducts research (which may be practical research) and then works with local companies to diagnose problems they face and provide solutions to these problems by producing prototypes.

Major Features:

Adopts an interdisciplinary approach, enabling students to become familiar with the fields of education, learning, and training, as well as with educational technology, multimedia, design, e-learning, and artificial intelligence. This major was designed in collaboration with the University of Oslo in Norway. Some courses are taught by specialists from the University of Oslo. This brings international experience to the major, opening the way for students to collaborate, conduct scientific research, exchange students, and pursue graduate studies.

The major focuses on scientific and applied research, and the graduation project may be an applied research project in the labor market, exploring the problems facing this sector and finding solutions.

This program primarily aims to graduate students capable of understanding, designing, and developing educational, training, and professional content based on sound pedagogical foundations, utilizing modern educational technology and artificial intelligence to meet the needs of the education and business sectors.
A graduate of the Master of Arts in Instructional Design and Technology program will be able to:

Design a course plan or training program in accordance with pedagogical principles, including defining objectives, intended learning outcomes, modern teaching and learning methods, and assessment methods.

Design and develop online, blended, or MOOC courses in accordance with pedagogical principles and modern technological requirements.

Design and implement training programs to improve the performance of educational staff and build entrepreneurial, life, and technological competencies.

Design educational or training content (videos, presentations, etc.) in the fields of e-learning, including educational content, technology, and teaching methods.
-
Design training content (videos, presentations, etc.) using simulation and gamification mechanisms.
-
Design, develop, and implement educational and training content on artificial intelligence, the basics of its use, and its tools.

Develop artificial intelligence tools in education and business.
-
Proficiency in using multimedia programs, such as image and video editing programs and content development programs.

The ability to implement educational or training programs using virtual and augmented reality (AR/VR) applications.

Using global educational platforms such as Moodle, Google Classroom, and others. Mastering design thinking and the methods and techniques of idea generation and problem solving.

Taking into account ethical and value-based dimensions, principles and protocols for dealing with others, communication, and teamwork.

Exercising leadership roles in bringing about institutional change, particularly in educational institutions.

Analyzing factors affecting the work environment, identifying the most significant opportunities and threats, and employing a scientific methodology in research and identifying needs.
