This program is the first of its kind among Palestinian universities, as Palestine Polytechnic University initiated offering the program in 2006. The program was introduced to align with the technological advancements in the field of communications and information technology, as effective communication and information transfer became crucial requirements in numerous electronic systems.

  1. Providing the sectors offering services in the fields of communications (wired and wireless), audio-visual broadcasting, and computer networks with engineering graduates who possess both theoretical and practical skills.
  2. Equipping the private sector with competent engineering professionals capable of establishing and managing independent functional entities in the field of telecommunications. This includes tasks such as maintaining and developing various telecommunications devices.
  3. Contributing to the development of Palestinian graduates by equipping them with modern engineering experience and skills at an advanced global level.
  4. Graduating qualified communications and electronics engineers who can pursue an academic career in the telecommunications field. This helps to provide the Palestinian and regional academic sector with academics holding higher degrees in this field.

Students of the of the Engineering program will have:

  1. an ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics
  2. an ability to apply engineering design to produce solutions that meet specified needs with consideration of public health, safety, and welfare, as well as global, cultural, social, environmental, and economic factors
  3. an ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences
  4. an ability to recognize ethical and professional responsibilities in engineering situations and make informed judgments, which must consider the impact of engineering solutions in global, economic, environmental, and societal contexts
  5. an ability to function effectively on a team whose members together provide leadership, create a collaborative and inclusive environment, establish goals, plan tasks, and meet objectives
  6. an ability to develop and conduct appropriate experimentation, analyze and interpret data, and use engineering judgment to draw conclusions
  7. an ability to acquire and apply new knowledge as needed, using appropriate learning strategies.
