The College of Applied Sciences at Palestine Polytechnic University is considered one of the distinguished and leading institutions in Palestine. Established in the academic year 1998/1999, it introduced its first program: Applied Mathematics. Mathematics serves as the fundamental cornerstone for all sciences, whether theoretical or applied. For instance, it is integral to engineering, playing a crucial role in developing models, creating drawings, and simulating reality.

In astronomy, the significance of mathematics becomes evident in understanding the movement of the sun, the alternation of day and night, the lunar movements and their calculations, as well as phenomena like eclipses. Many scientific disciplines rely on mathematics, including medicine, physics, chemistry, biology, climate science, economics, and more. Thus, mathematics is considered the foundational framework upon which various sciences are built.

The applied mathematics program offers distinct advantages, notably its incorporation of courses in statistics. Statistics is indispensable to nearly every applied science, finding application in fields such as medical tests and therapeutic medicine. Additionally, it is used in economics to elucidate various economic phenomena, such as demand and supply theories, as well as the correlation between income levels and consumer spending. Psychology also utilizes statistical methods, measuring intelligence levels and exploring the relationship between skills and intelligence.

Vision:

To lead in achieving outstanding outcomes in mathematics and its applications, contributing to the enrichment of modern scientific and technological knowledge within our society.

Mission:
