- To Provide well-trained staff to work in relevant sectors as a functional therapist.
- To empower students with the professional, research and applied skills necessary to meet the needs of the labor market in the field of rehabilitation health.
- To improve the quality of life for people with motor, neurological and psychological disabilities, and help patients and survivors of injuries return to their lives effectively as well as raise the level of independence and quality of life for groups in need of rehabilitation support.
- To Provide students with effective communication skills so as to motivate patients to be interactive in achieving the treatment plan.
- To provide consulting, training and professional services to the target institutions which strengthening partnership and networking with the local community.
- To activate the role of students and encourage them to participate in voluntary rehabilitation projects which boosts the since of belonging to the local community.
- To enhance student’s competencies in using and handling medical devices by providing them with recent and specialized laboratories.
- To train students to lead comprehensive assessments of homes, workplaces and multiple environments in order to assess its appropriateness and readiness for accommodating persons with disabilities.
After the student completes four academic years, he will be fully qualified scientifically, theoretically, and practically, so that he will be able to deal with all pathological conditions related to the occupational therapy specialization, in terms of evaluation and analysis of all factors that may limit the independence of the individual and the performance of his life activities Effectively and efficiently, define treatment goals and create the necessary treatment plan for each patient’s condition in various places of presence, such as hospitals, private rehabilitation clinics, schools, prisons, and other rehabilitation places.
Knowledge and understanding skills
- Identify the major occupation based theories and the relationship between occupation and health and well-being.
- Illustrate legal and ethical occupational therapy practice framework.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human development, human anatomy, human physiology and pathology and dysfunction and relate this to occupational performance.
- Demonstrate knowledge of research methods and evidence based practice
- Identify the basic principles of assessment methods and evaluation process for person, environment and occupational performance.
- Demonstrate understanding of principles related to intervention approaches, strategies and techniques.
Intellectual skills
- Apply theoretical frameworks on occupational therapy practice in different contexts.
- Develop problem solving strategies, clinical reasoning and critical reflection on practical scenarios.
- Conduct appropriate examinations and evaluations of patients of all ages.
- Planning, developing and implementing treatment-plans appropriate for each patient according to the age and needs of the patient.
- Creating creative and meaningful activities and applying the therapeutic use of occupation.
- Creating constructive ways to use the appropriate equipment, materials, components and technologies in the building of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
- Critically analyse theoretical frameworks, appraise evidence and critique assessment strategies and outcome measures.
- Apply critical and creative thinking and analytical skills in decision making and problem solving
- Apply basic knowledge and skills in integrating research studies, evaluating and utilising research findings in practice.

- Demonstrate competence in comprehensive and systematic assessment skills of occupational performance of activities of daily living, productivity and leisure of clients from different ages and in different contexts.
- Demonstrate competence in setting goals collaboratively with clients, families and caregivers.
- Demonstrate competence in documenting occupational therapy interventions.
- Demonstrate application of best evidence, effective use of resources and client-centred practice.
- Apply coordination and management skills to coordinate, manage and deliver effective occupational therapy interventions and quality services provision, including risk management.

- Demonstrate professional behaviours consistent with the occupational therapy code of ethics, the laws of the health care system and the policies of healthcare organizations.
