نتيجة التطور الواسع والطلب المتزايد على انظمة الطاقة المتجدده وخاصة الانظمة الشمسية كان لابد من البدء بالتفكير في انشاء تخصص يواكب هذا المجال .بالاضافة ايضا  الى ان معظم شركات توزيع الكهرباء وشركات ربط الانظمة اصبحت تستعين وتوظف فنيين من تخصصات مختلفة لعدم توفر فنيين مختصين في هذا المجال. من هنا تبرز الحاجة لفتح تخصص كامل متكامل يشمل انظمة الطاقة الشمسية وانظمة توزيع الطاقة الكهربائية.

تسعى جامعة بوليتكنك فلسطين من خلال طرح تخصص هندسة التصنيع المتسدام الى تمكين الخريج للعمل في القطاعات الصناعية المختلفة والحديثة بالأخص، من خلال دراسة  الطالب للتخصص سوف يكون قادراً على التعامل مع الأنظمة الصناعية الحديثة والتي ستغدو اساساً في كل العمليات الصناعية المستقبلية بدءً من القطع البسيط الى التشكيل المعقد، بالإضافة الى استدامة العملية الصناعية من خلال توفير الوقت والجهد ورفع كفاءة الإعتبارات البيئية عند التصنيع.

يهدف التخصص الى تلبية احتياجات القطاع الصناعي الفلسطيني من خلال رفد السوق المحلي بفنيين أكفاء في مجال الالكترونيات الصناعية والتي تعتبر من أهم مكونات الأنظمة الصناعية الحديثة. واكساب الطلاب بالمهارات اللازمة في الخدمات الفنية في مجال الهندسة الكهربائية والإلكترونية، وذلك من خلال استخدام الطاقات والامكانيات المتوفرة لدى القطاع الصناعي الفلسطيني والتي من شأنها ان تساهم في نمو وتطور القطاع الصناعي الفلسطيني.

يهدف البرنامج إلى اكساب الطالب المفاهيم والمهارات في مجال ربط أنظمة المباني (الإنارة والتكييف والإنذار والمراقبة والأمان) والتحكم بها ومراقبتها من خلال أنظمة التحكم الذكية، بالإضافة إلى مجال استخدام الطاقة المتجددة، بحيث يزودهم التخصص بالمعارف والمهارات اللازمة في التركيب والتشغيل و الصيانة للتعامل مع هذه الأنظمة تساعدهم على فهم عملها وتشغيلها و ربطها بأنظمة التحكم.

 نظرا للتطور الواسع والسريع الذي شهده مجال الهندسة الكهربائية في العقود الأخيرة، خاصة في مجال التحكم الآلي الذي يشمل بناء الدوائر الكهربائية وتصميم الأنظمة الصناعية وعملية الربط بين وحدة التحكم ووحدة الإنتاج، فقد برزت الحاجة إلى طرح برنامج هندسي يستعرض العديد من الأنظمة الصناعية ويعمل على تأهيل خريجين يتمتعون بكفاءات هندسية ومهنية عالية وذلك لتلبية احتياجات القطاع الصناعي الفلسطيني بمختلفة أنظمته التقليدية والمتطورة.مدة الدراسة في هذا البرنامج سنتان دراسيتان بواقع [77] ساعة معتمدة.
